Veterinary Clinical Complex


The Veterinary Clinical Complex (VCC) of the College is providing high quality healthcare services to animals. The hospital operates from 9.30 AM to 12.30 PM during week days. In addition, 24-hour emergency service is given to critical cases. Health service to different farm animals is also provided by visiting to farms. The department is also serving as a referral hospital for different State Veterinary Dispensaries and Private Veterinary Clinics of Mizoram. The VCC is functioning by the service of faculty from the Clinical Departments such as Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Surgery and Radiology, and Animal Reproduction, Gyanaecology and Obstetrics. The Department is also offering quality education for Undergraduate and Post-Graduate Students through different Veterinary Clinical Practice (VCP) courses as per the guidelines of Veterinary Council of India (VCI) and Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).

Activity: In VCC, regular health checkup, vaccination, diagnosis and treatment of different diseases conditions, minor and major surgeries are performed. VCC is also organizing animal health camps, and trainings for line department.

Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory: Under the activities of VCC, various diagnostic laboratory facilities are also provided with the help of Para-Clinical Departments like Veterinary Parasitology, Veterinary Microbiology, Veterinar Pathology, and Veterinary Physiology and Biochemistry. Blood smear examination, fecal examination, urine examination, skin scraping examination, cytology examination, bacterial culture and antibiotic sensitivity, molecular diagnosis, etc., are performed. Rapid diagnostic kits for canine parvoviral infection, canine distemper, canine babesiosis, ehrlichiosis, anaplasmosis etc., are also available.
