Central Agricultural University Successfully Concludes Three-Day Joint Council Meetings

Aizawl, June 25 : The Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal, successfully organised three important Joint Council Meetings from 22 to 24 June 2026 at the College of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry, CAU, Selesih. The meetings were the 15th Research Council Meeting (RCM), the 11th Extension Education Council Meeting (EECM), and the 33rd Academic Council Meeting (ACM).

The inaugural session of these three key meetings, held on 22 June, 2026, was graced by the Governor of Mizoram, General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd), who attended as the Chief Guest. Following the inauguration, the Director of Research, Director of Extension Education and Director of Instruction of CAU Imphal presented comprehensive reports on the University’s achievements and future plans.

During the 15th Research Council Meeting, research teams from various faculties under CAU presented the major achievements and challenges of their ongoing research projects. Research Team Leaders from the disciplines of Agriculture, Horticulture, Fishery, Forestry, and Animal & Veterinary Sciences shared valuable insights and proposed strategies for future advancements.

The 11th Extension Education Council Meeting focused on topics such as the promotion of Chemical Free Villages, progress in extension activities and various future initiatives aimed at strengthening outreach programmes.

The 33rd Academic Council Meeting deliberated on important academic matters, including curriculum revision, updates to academic regulations and measures to further enhance the quality of agricultural education.

On the concluding day, 24 June 2026, Deans from all 13 constituent colleges of CAU Imphal presented detailed reports on the progress and achievements of their respective colleges.

The valedictory meeting was chaired by Dr. Anupam Mishra, Vice-Chancellor of CAU. Valuable inputs and suggestions were received from external experts and special invitees who attended the Joint Council Meetings.

More than 100 experts and faculty members from the 13 constituent colleges participated in the CAU Joint Council Meetings. The participants engaged in productive and in-depth discussions on several key issues vital to the continued growth and development of the University.
