Name of the Department: Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension Education
Brief Information about the Department: The Department of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Extension Education has become functional from 2001 with joining of one Assistant Professor. Presently, the Department is offering 4 credits (3+1) in Undergraduate degree programme in 3rd professional year. The MVSc degree programme in Veterinary Extension Education has been introduced from academic session 2013-14. The Department has been offering minor courses and supporting courses for the MVSc students of other discipline since 2011-12.
MANDATE
- To impart teaching in Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension Education to Undergraduate and Post-graduate students.
- To conduct research in adoption of technology, ICT, extension management, group dynamics, sustainable development, marketing, entrepreneurship etc. to promote livestock development.
- To disseminate latest information and research on animal health and production to livestock producers and consumers.
