The Department of Livestock Production Management (LPM) was was started in November 1998 with Dr. L. Hmar appointed on deputation as Assistant Professor. In the year 2008, the department was shifted from Academic Block to one of the farm building in the farm complex (present one). The department is actively engaged in UG & PG teaching and providing technical knowledge and guidance in various aspects of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry practices to the rural farmers, rural youths/women, school drop outs, etc. through conducting short and long term hands on training programmes. The department is also managing Instructional livestock farm complex comprising of cattle, piggery, sheep & goat, poultry units. These units are helping in catering to the needs of both the students and farmers in demonstrating the scientific methods of livestock and poultry rearing.
