Brief Information about the Department:
The department is having three different laboratories having ample space which are well furnished with almost all the necessary equipments to conduct practical classes and also to run many different research works. This department is offering UG and PG courses. Postgraduate programme was started in the year 2007. As of now, a total of nine Post Graduate students of this department successfully completed their course and all of them got good placement in different sectors. Besides teaching, the department is also engaged in research and extension activities regularly.
The prioritize researchable areas of this department are herbal medicine, drug and pesticide residue analysis and pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic studies of drugs.

HPLC (Binary-Pump) with UV/VIS and Fluorescence detector, Fluorescence –Spectrophotometer, UV/VIS spectrophotometer, ELISA reader, Passive avoidance apparatus, Plethysmometer, Analgesiometers (Tail flick apparatus, hot and cold apparatus), Lyophilizer, different weighing machine including precision digital weighing machine, Centrifuge machines, Cold centrifuge machine, Organ bath with physiograph, Convulsiometer, Ultrasonicator, Microwave digester, Deep freezer, Regfrigerator, Hot Air Oven, Autoclave, Soxhlet Apparatus, etc.
Ongoing Projects:
In collaboration with Dept. of Vet. Biochemistry, the following projects are being carried-out
1) AINP on Pesticide Residues funded by ICAR
2) Strengthening of Pesticide Residue Laboratory under RKVY
