Name of the Department: Animal Nutrition
The Department of Animal Nutrition is offering courses for undergraduate (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) and post-graduate (M.V. Sc and Ph.D. in Animal Nutrition) degree programmes as per the latest VCI and ICAR syllabus. The Department is having well equipped laboratories with facilities for analysing feeds and fodders for their nutritional composition. The department has experimental shed for conducting researches/feeding experiments on poultry. The Department has expertise in providing feeding strategies and feed formulas for livestock and poultry species and has a feed processing units for preparation of compounded feeds for livestock and poultry.

Facilities Available: Facilities available for analysing feeds and fodders for proximate composition and fibre fractions and also some minerals and in vitro studies.
Ongoing Projects: Effect of processing on nutritive and anti-nutritive components and in vitro nutrient digestibility of tree leaves fed to ruminants in Mizoram.
