Instructional Farm Complex

The College has an Instructional Farm Complex for maintaining different species and breeds of livestock and poultry for teaching/training and research. The Department of Livestock Production & Management is located in the ILFC as per the recommendations of the Veterinary Council of India under the Minimum Standards for Veterinary Education (B.V.Sc. & A.H. Degree Course) Regulations-1993 and 2008.

The ILFC has the following Units:

  1. Cattle Unit (For 25-30 Cattle)
  2. Piggery Unit (For 100-150 Pigs)
  3. Sheep & Goat Unit (For 50-60 Sheep/Goats)

A Poultry Unit under ILFC is under construction for rearing 2000 birds which may become functional by end of 2011.
Currently, ILFC is maintaining a small herd of cattle, pigs and poultry. Sheep and goats are to be introduced shortly.
The College has a small well-furnished Laboratory Animal House to breed and maintain Laboratory animals such as mice, rats, guinea-pigs and rabbits as a Resource Unit to meet the requirements of Laboratory animals for different Departments for teaching and research purposes.
